How This Works

The Football Career Path is a free daily football guessing game. Every day you get one mystery footballer, and the only clue is their career — the clubs they played for, the seasons they were there, and how many appearances and goals they managed at each one. That career table is taken straight from the player's own Wikipedia article.

Playing the daily game

  1. Start with a blurred careerEvery club the player turned out for is listed, but the rows are hidden.
  2. Reveal a row at a timeEach reveal uncovers one more club spell — the season, the appearances, the goals.
  3. Guess the footballerYou get one guess per club, plus a final one. Name them early for a higher score — and the shorter the career, the more each wrong guess costs.

Everyone playing on the same day sees the same player and the same reveal order, so it is a fair comparison — nobody gets luckier clues than anyone else.

Daily Premier League mode

Alongside the main game there are 20 more puzzles every day, one for each club in the 2026/27 Premier League. Each club's mystery player is someone who made at least 10 appearances for them, so they are a name that club's supporters have actually seen play. Build a separate streak for every club you follow.

Where the football data comes from

Every career path in this football quiz is built from Wikipedia. Player careers are read from the standard football biography infobox on each footballer's Wikipedia page, which lists each club alongside the years, appearances and goals. Nothing is written by hand, so the career histories match what you would find if you looked the player up yourself.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up and no email needed — open the page and play. If you want your streak to follow you onto another device, you can optionally claim a username and a short PIN, and that is the only detail the game ever stores about you.
